The duo Boy Meets Girl had written many songs for Whitney Houston including “How Will I Know” and “I Wanna Dance With Somebody (Who Loves Me)”. Waiting for a Star to Fall was originally written for Whitney but she rejected it and Boy Meets Girl took it themselves to #5 on the Billboard charts in 1988. The duo also sang backup on Deniece Williams’ “Let’s Hear it for the Boy”.
