Song by legendary one hit wonders Dexys Midnight Runners spent only week in the top spot on the charts in 1983 (inbetween Beat It and Billy Jean) but 11 weeks total in the top 40. The iconic video features the overall clad group dancing around.

Stand Back is a number five hit from Stevie Nicks’ Wild Heart album from 1983. The song was inspired by Stevie hearing Prince’s Little Red Corvette while driving. Word got back to Prince and he (uncredited) plays organ on the album version of the song. Stand Back is typically the only Nicks solo song performed by Fleetwood Mac.

We’ve Got Tonight was originally written and recorded by Bob Seger in 1978 and reached number 13 but it wasn’t a really big hit until Kenny Rogers & Sheena Easton sang it for Kenny’s 1983 album of the same name. A crossover hit, it topped the country chart, hit #6 on the pop charts and #2 on the adult contemporary charts.

Sergio Mendes is a massive star in his native Brasil and enjoyed some popularity in the US. He had a hit in 1968 with Look of Love and again in 1983 with Never Gonna Let You Go which he co-sung with Joe Pizzulo and Leza Miller. The song was originally written for Earth Wind and Fire but they passed on it; Dionne Warwick recorded it in 1982 but Sergio had the hit with it.
