Michael McDonald recorded I Keep Forgettin’ (Everytime You’re Near) in 1982 with his sister Maureen for his first solo album away from the Doobie Brothers. It reached number four on the charts. The song was also heavily sampled in Warren G and Nate Dogg’s hit Regulate.
