We Built This City video by Starship. Led by former Jefferson Airplane member Grace Slick, Starship hit #1 with the song in 1985. The lyrics were written by Bernie Taupin. According to Slick, the song actually refers to Los Angeles of the ’70s. The song was awarded “the #1 Most Awesomely Bad Song Ever” by Blender magazine in 2004. It might be bad, but it’s catchy.
