Always on My Mind is one of those classic songs that has been a hit for a number of different artists in different eras. Written by Brenda Lee, who had a minor country hit with it in 1972 before Elvis Presley blew it up that same year on the Pop charts. Willie Nelson brought it back in 1982 and topped the country charts, rocketed up the Top 100 charts to number 5 and won numerous Grammy Awards for the tune. I believe the Willie Nelson to be the definitive version (in my opinion of course!). The song was a hit once again in 1987 for the Pet Shop Boys.

You and I was recorded as a duet between Eddie Rabbitt and Crystal Gayle. The song topped the country charts as well as rising up on the pop and adult contemporary charts. The producer actually tricked both artists by telling them they were each doing a solo song and then later mixing the results into a duet. You and I is a very popular wedding song.

Dolly Parton won a Grammy with the number 1 song 9 to 5 which she wrote for the comedic movie Nine to Five. The movie starred Jane Fonda, Lily Tomlin, and Parton in her film debut. There’s lots of clips from the movie in this music video. Fun fact: Dolly Parton was the only actor to show up on the set of the first day with all her lines memorized because she thought she had to.
