The Reflex is one of those great songs that you just have to dance to. You can’t help yourself. The video was mostly shot live in Toronto in early 1984. In June of ’84 it topped the charts for two weeks. The “waterfall” effect was considered highly cutting edge when the video was done.

The video for Wild Boys cost Duran Duran over $1 million. The elaborate (to say the least) video was intended to serve as a teaser for a full length William S. Burroughs film that never ended up being made. Wild Boys was the only studio track from their live album Arena and hit #2 on the charts in 1984.

Duran Duran: A View to a Kill

Duran Duran scored the ultimate hit in 1985 with the James Bond theme A View to a Kill. It’s the only Bond theme to reach number 1. The video is a humorous intercut of the band and the movie, parodying the genre.

Notorious featured a revamped Duran Duran without Andy and Roger Taylor. The video was choreographed by Paula Abdul and features a young Christy Turlington in the outdoor scenes. Funk master Nile Rogers produced the song.

Band Aid: Do They Know It’s Christmas

An all-star 80′s cast came together as Band Aid to raise money for the crisis in Ethiopa. Some of the stars singing on this Christmas classic were: Duran Duran, Spandau Ballet, Paul Young, Culture Club, George Michael of Wham!, Kool and the Gang, Sting, Bono and Adam Clayton of U2, Phil Collins, Jody Watley of Shalamar, Bananarama, David Bowie, Paul McCartney and Christopher Cross. The song was written and produced by Bob Geldof. Great lyrics and melodies make this one of the all time great Christmas songs: Feed the world. Let them know it’s Christmas time again.

Hungry Like the Wolf is one of the greatest music videos ever.. in fact MTV ranked it as #11. The Duran Duran song was released in late 1982 and was given a popularity boost by it’s awesome video. The video features singer Simon Le Bon pursuing a tiger-like woman throughout Sri Lanka.
