Jazz superstar Herbie Hancock had a solo hit with Rockit in 1983. The highly conceptual video featured all sorts of puppetry and animatronics. The song is notable as one of the first commercial songs to feature “scratching”, paving the way for future hip-hop releases and turntablism.
